Once you research planetary invasion...use your troop transport to transfer populations of max out planets to new colonies, newly conquered planets in need of people.

1) Don't take or colonize too many planets than you can handle. I start off with far 3- 4 planets with 8+ or better quality. 2) On large or bigger maps I build additional 2-3 surveyor ships to get those 1,000 credit anomalies. 3) I lower tax rate to have 100% moral or happiness so my population will increase at 2x for a few turns (5-10 turns). Thus population in my capital and new colonies grow faster. 4) I research economy techs to upgrade economy buildings. I

I noticed this also. The problem is annoying. Ship Designs are available in planet ship build list but not in the shipyard. I like 1.8a in that I can play the game on my old crappy laptop smoothly.

I used to think of Dark Avatar as just an expansion, so I waited and tried the demo before taking the plunge. But now... Dark Avator isn't really an expansion, it a total improvement over the regular Galciv2:Dread Lords. So I these days I play DA only and not DL anymore. I only thing I sorta miss is the spying system in DL. DA has better AI, better graphics. Colony rush at the beginning of games aren't so important in DA like in DL. If you wait long enough I'm stardock will have an ex

Where is V for Vendetta when you need him? The un-armed civilians need to make a plan to rush those troops and grab their equipment with minimum losses. Or at least called on the troops to join their movement.

same thing happen to me when loading a saved game. the crash just freeze the game graphics and keyboard input (no ctrl-alt-del), though music and mouse cursor still work.

Heated arguments, because religon relies on BLIND faith. Blind faith to give Benny Hinn so much money! (maybe Hinn only play as the Good Torians in galciv2). Why don't people read history and think for themselves? I hate history books that implies European history as World history (where's Africa, Asia?). The romans were the barbians conquering the more civilized societies, not the other way around. Judaism, an early part/root of Christanity starts with Moses so maybe 1000BC.

It's not a possibiliy, but a guarantee. The question is when? Resources are getting low and global warming causing crazy weather patterns. Every year thre are a lot more humans, but the amount of land space remains pretty much the same. For me, I think No big nukes for WWIII, too dirty, destroys valuable intrastructure. Use bioweapons, with an off switch or chemical weapons for better containment in a region. Perhaps a tiny nuke aim at dense military structures. If you have enough

Scenario I: ascension is merely another place of existance where different lifeforms still try to destroy one another. Same old story, just change the background and characters. Scenario II: Ascension where one becomes a more intelligent, more moral, closer to omnipotence. Yes Ascension is logically possible but it has to be more of an internal event first and occurs with the physical event of ohhh.... let say death. Ascension has to be an internal event and not a physical one,

So far the beta are fun and great, but I worry about replay ability. I think the game would be more fun, if you can't issue orders while paused. Thus SOASE will be a real time game, especially with multiplayer. But with the current zoom levels it is very hard to click on enemy ships moving when you want all ships to concentrate fire on one ship. (Currently when you zoom to close, you pass the object you are looking at, and when you a little out, the ship is too tiny to click on or movin

With the 0.76b.018 version, the culture setting is fine with me. I don't have a problem if you conquer a planet/asteroid and after colonizing it, it reverts back to its old owner. I do have a problem where it instantly reverts back to the old owner. Make it more realistic...like it yours, but the allegiance slowly falls to 20% and an uprising occurs and the planet reverts back to the more powerful culture, unless during that time you manage to destroy broadcasting stations in adjacent systems or

DA doesn't change the core DL game. DA and DL are separate programs, except DA uses some core files from DL. For me once I played DA, I don't plan on going back to play DL anymore. The AI in DA is better, and gameplay is better. DL doesn't receive anymore patches.

All we need is the Drengin to attack Earth and humanity will finally be united. A Galciv perspective: WARS!! That is the history of mankind. We invent new ways to kill each other everyday! Africa is going to be left to kill itself to death with AIDS and civil wars. (seeking a military victory on the african continent.) North Africa will remain as it is. Probablly seeking a diplomatic victory. United States has to keep being the technological capital of th

I can't download updated beta. There's a pop up window with asking for log in, it a windows login. I'm not talking about logging into stardock central.

90 degreed or quarter circle right? Guess that means everyone will be placing defenses at the peripheral and center of the circle. So when enemy ships on the west want to go east, in their first jump in they'll encounter defenses on the west side of the circle than defenses at the center before jumping to the next planet? Or they could move around the circle and avoid defenses in the center. This might be a good compromise. I would like to suggest something to be done wit

I can remember in the old days when games like Raptor: Call of the Shadows. I was totally blown away at that the entire game fits on a single floppy and runs well with my 386Dx computer. In those days...all the games run well and stable when you met the MINIMUM requirements. Nowdays, so much complications, sound cards, graphic cards, and then recently some idiot wants you to buy an FX-card to work with your graphics card. Minimun requirements are more like recommended now. For a few ga

Awesome story! Though it reveal two things you might want to optimized for your next game. Draginol, why were most of your ships warp 1 speed? Especially the one with the survey ability. Usually, I don't waste money and time building scouts. I research straight to survey module...build a survey ship with speed and no weapsons so I can get as many anomalies as possible (especially the ones that boost research or give money). My speedy survey ship usually out run any warship.<br

The short answer is yes, the technical answer is economics require that some people willing to work for less whether it be a teenager just needing spending money or a single mother to support her baby. Business is a system where the workers produce a product that is a more valuable than their salaries. How much more valuable depends on the owners or the board of directors. Extra money is used to minimized more risk that wasn't finiancially possible when initally starting the business, such as l

I disagree. George Walker Bush, Osama bin Laden, Benjamin Netanyahu, Kim Jong Il. Korean Dictator are not that dangerous except maybe for Putin. Though they all have power...it is limited. Their actions are monitored and in many ways scutinized by other countries and media networks. Especially in the US, most modern presidents have to deal with world issues and conflicts that impact America only because of the consequences of greedy corporations. Heck...corporations have already brough

Oh by the way budget surplus ...were for that year or few years in the green. Dude don't you remember we have Trillions in OVERALL DEBT. Money isn't back by gold...it just currency...so governments just prints them. If they print too much...than inflation or the value or trust worthyness of the current drop sharply...the 5 dollars last week is worth $3 this week. That creates havok on economy. But if it depreciates a penny ever so often it's still good. Basically we all in a slow steady inflatio
