Thanks, guys. One advantage of my crash was getting to start over from scratch...never something I'd consign myself to do without being absolutely forced; too much damn work. Luckily, my reinstall coincided with the arrival of my copy of WinXP RC1 in the mail. So now I'm running XP from a fresh install. All I can say is...Wow! I've read a lot about it, vehemently defended its right to exis

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been away for awhile (like I'm sure anyone even noticed... ) but I had a really bad PC crash last week and am just now up and running once more. One of the things that sucks about crashing PCs is getting them back to usable status afterwards when you've made two million little modifications since your initial install. Now I start the long arduous process of reinstalling Obje

Man, ess-vid. Make whatever excuses you like. You're still in the wrong on this one. It's not even an argument; you're just plain wrong. Not your logic. I can agree with that on almost every point. But your approach is so far off as to be almost laughable (if it weren't so damned irritating). Here is this guy, asking for help in a forum in which he has the reasonable expectation of receiving it. And here's you using his request as an excuse to make some belligerent (albeit inte
Cat, you're right. There is a demand for all things XP in the public right now. You know, I've finally reached my limit on this XP stuff. At this point, I'm in favor of a user-definable filter that will let you hide anything with "XP" in the title. I won't argue that skinners creating XP skins lack talent or skill. But enough is enough. Ratings could and very well should reflect the fact that an idea or theme has been done to death, and that the skinner is visciously pommeli

Load the images into any decent photo/image editor and resample at 800x600. (You can usually find the Resample command in an Edit or Tools menu.) This usually works fine when downsampling, although it sometimes gives bad resluts when trying to sample an image *up* (like from 800x600 to 1024x768).
