I remember you mentioning somewhere that as a makeup for Servo not delivering, those folks would be getting into the Founder's program at some point- how is that going to work?

A secondary idea I had was to tie outposts to troop building, with a time cost that could be reduced by more troops (so techs like cooperation/logistics would help here) or civics tech (and maybe a faction trait)
I'm a little worried because I haven't seen any chatter about the game outside of TBS haven forums. For this game to sell, it's going to have to get some good word of mouth, and I have a feeling it's going to need a long tail. That said, this game is more than capable of lasting and selling over time. THis game is going to sell based on reviews and word of mouth, and hopefully the trolls don't hurt the game much.
Simply put, the fact they pulled content from boxes, plus censored their own forums over the outcry- even if they have a case (they do), what they did is still unacceptable. Stuff like this REALLY wants me to have Stardock put their games on Steam, Impulse, AND re-start DDL of their own games SDC-style. I am now very close to not buying from Gamestop again (I'll keep it on my system JUST for FE)
I think I figured out what happened. Gamestop took over Impulse today- but they're only handling the gaming side. The non-gaming stuff has disappeared from Impulse. Looking up Stardock Corporation nothing was there. This problem should solve itself soon, but I'd email support to see if they know anything. I'm pretty sure that's the cause though.
As long as you downloaded an update at some point prior to October 31, 2010 you're set. Right now, everyone who buys as of November 1st 2010 still gets the first expansion pack we're working on for free. These expansion packs are more akin to GalCiv II level expansions (they're not micro expansions).
Over at other places, people are wondering if they bought and registered the game prior to the due dat

I was planning to hold out until 1.1 and the demo came out ... but two expansions for free ... had to take that offer. Now I feel like a girl in winters sale, laden with a dozen price-reduced shawls. The general idea is that at some point Elemental's price point will go down (it's selling well and in fact sold more units at retail and direct in October than in September) and we want to make sure th

Having issues with Impulse updating. IT won't update.
Or perhaps it should be a modifier that can cause misses/critical hits, delivering 0 damage at times. Missiles miss the most, Mass Drivers the least (since Mass drivers are underpowered) Smaller craft are at a penalty to hit. (Gotta do something to discourage the big ship players- since that's almost always the way to go- and the only other solution I see to that is allowing people to build 2 ships/turn if they have the production for it, but even then I'd pump out Yamatos
I think one of the effects is that it upgrades ship designs more often.
Here's the rub: how does the purchaser of the used software know that they can't patch up? I've never heard of this before. Yes, Stardock loses money, and yes, this would hold up in court. That being said, the one who unknowingly purchases such will get a nasty surprise. I understand both side's position in this though. I understand why Stardock is being anal about this- since it does cost them money. This is a problem that will go away in time though. It will also only apply
