First of all, I want to make clear that my core problem *really* is with Windows 11 Home, but I think it is manifesting in WB as well, and I'm hoping I can at least get a solution to the WB issue here... My system: Windows 11 Core 24H2 (26100.ge_release.240331-1435) WindowBlinds 11.02 (017 x64 etc) The problem that I'm having on Windows 11, is that after an OS update a few months ago, File Explorer no longer functions; when I click on the icon, I get Explorer w

I've noticed an odd issue with the Top WindowBlinds Skinners side-bar on the WindowBlinds Gallery page... If I click on "Last 30 days" (which is the default), it shows (for example) don5318 at 4330 ... I'm pretty sure don5318 hasn't created that many skins in his entire career, let alone the last 30 days... Click on "Yesterday", and it shows 279 for him... now *that* might possibly be how many skins he created over his WB career, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't touch

Oh!! Very interesting... What's odd about this, is that *some* dialogs have the checkboxes with this skin, and others do not... the dialogs that I've created, using standard WinAPI controls, display fine, but others don't - probably because they use non-standard libraries such as Borland Builder++ to create the controls... Anyway, I'll try adding these components into the skin and see if I can solve the issue... Permit me to clarify a point though... if I *

I understand all the issues of skin authors disappearing... my question is whether anyone has any insight into what might cause this one specific issue, which occurs with several skins... I have access to SkinStudio, and could edit the skin myself, if I could get some insight into what is causing the CheckBox elements to not appear... CheckBox is a standard Windows UI element, not something unique that WindowBlinds created, though they might have there own implementation of it...</

This is an issue that I've stumbled on, several times over the years with WindowBlinds themes... I'm currently using Windows 10 Pro 22H2, WB 10.89, skin: Indebted however, this has occurred with occasional skins, in all Windows versions, and all WB versions, going back many years... it has resulted in my simply not using certain skins that I otherwise like... I'm wondering if there is some way to fix this issue in the skin(s) ?? So look at the linked image: <a href="

Ahhh... thanks for the clarification... It sounds like they just hacked this function in, probably just for me, and haven't put alot of thought into it... Is there any chance that more effort will be put into that function?? I *would* like to finally switch to Start11... Should I enter these issues as bug reports?

This is cool!! I just discovered that Start11 V2.07 actually has the cascading "All Programs" menu that I had requested in the past... I'm using Windows 10 Pro, and WindowBlinds V10.89. I open Start11, right-click "All Programs", and select "open as a menu" ... and HUZZAH!! I have a cascading Programs Menu, as I've been requesting for some time... (I'm using Windows 7 style for Start11). However, it has a few quirks that I'm hoping I can configure: 1. I

I'm curious about this decision to end the Master Skinners program... doesn't this essentially mean that virtually all theme development will come to an end?? How do we interpret this? I mean, theme generation was slowing in recent years before that, but at least the Masters were still developing... what is the vision for the future of WB ??

Wow... this sounds like a bad trend... at a minimum, there is no longer a single site to see what new themes are available. New users coming into WB aren't going to know that there are other places to look for themes; I wonder if this signals a general move away from WB entirely??

I've noticed, during recent visits, that all of the WB themes on WinCustomize are free themes... all the paid themes have vanished?? I'll admit, I typically leaned toward free themes, but I've purchased quite a number of the paid themes, as long as they didn't exceed the cost of the base program!! In particular, I have quite a collection of themes by @don5318, who seems particularly able to create visions that really appeal to me!!... but they are all gone?? What does this
That is the Windows 10 style representation of the all programs list.
So does Stardock simply reject any consideration of offering the Windows XP style of actual, real, useful cascading menus, in StartXX ?? Because what you are offering now, continues (after years of discussion) to be completely useless to me, and I'm having to continue to use Open Shell to get a usable start menu... and my repeated upgrade

Well, okay, I looked at that, but the Start11.V2 "menu" really doesn't make much sense... it appears to be just random file listings, not at *all* related to the contents of the Programs folders, which are listed at: C:\Users\ \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs This is what Start11.V2 "menu" shows on my Windows 11 laptop: https://www.flickr.com/photos/derelllicht/53302929082

Well, I bought the upgrade and installed it, but really don't understand what options I have... I turned on 'All programs list', then tried turning 'Start menu should open showing all programs list', but that simply does not give me cascading menus... I *still* don't see any way to get a Windows-XP-style cascading Programs menu, as I get with Open Shell; See included image below: https://www.flickr.com/photos/derelllicht/53303909539
You can disable that "Mouseover Glow"(drop down arrow graphic). If you have Skinstudios 10 you should be able to remove it. It just Mouseover glow graphics. It should not effect the skin function. Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Okay, I see that page, but I'm not sure what exactly I should do to 'disable' this function... Should I just delete the image? or set Frame Count to 0 ? I don

I guess my main hope was that I would stumble across someone else who has also seen this issue, but given the small number of users who cruise through this group these days, I suspect that my odds are slim...

Well... sadly, no, there are no steps to reproduce it consistently!! It *does* seem to happen more frequently with web browsers, but then those are the programs that I use most frequently, so that doesn't tell us much!! I probably open or restore a browser window, several dozen times per day, and this happens maybe 5 times/day or so!! What a mystery...

This isn't an actual problem, just an odd thing that happens now and then, but if someone knows how to resolve it, I'd like to know... I'm using WB 10.89 on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 build 19045.3570 Every now and then, I'll get this odd quirk where the popup button for Minimize or Maximize will stick on the screen, and won't go away (see example linked below). Hovering the cursor over it doesn't make it go away. Eventually it goes away on its own, but I haven't found

WHOA!!!! PROBLEM FIXED !!! Since I already have a license for Start11, I went ahead and installed/activated it... It indeed solved all these problems, all themes installed and displayed properly... However... I still require Open Start Menu (OSM), to make that menu usable; so I set Start11 to "not run at startup", then ran OSM again... *and the WB11 themes are working fine now* !! I then restarted the computer (booting to OSM), and everything cont
I think, to test it always best to use those default skins that come with WB. From there, if it still appear, than, we know its not skin related. If it only appear on some skin, than it is most likely skin related. Try and see if the issue appear on skins like diamond, acrylic 7, corporate. Use those skin that come with white clear taskbar while you on dark mode. If the taskbar don't paint properly, you can easily see it dark taskbar instead a w

Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Interesting... the only thing I see different, is that your menu is still center-aligned, while mine is left-aligned... don't know if that makes any difference or not... Ahhh, interesting... so I downloaded another user-created skin (this one free), using the "Download more styles" option in WB11, and that one renders just fine also... Okay, tomorrow I'll uninstall all of my user-created skins, and download them fresh from Wincustomize... then we'll see what happens; The skins that I added in here, I had copied from my existing backup disks as .wba files; maybe there's something wrong with those files?? For now, though, I'm beat... I'll
