Well, it seems to have fixed itself, somehow. It's working now.

The calendar that usually pops up when you click on the date in the tasktray doesn't work, and the clicking bell doesn't show the notification area. The taskbar is at the bottom of the screen. According to Start 11v2, my software is up to date, and the "About" page in Settings says version 2.11. If downgrading to 2.10 (or whatever the last version was) will get my calendar back, can I do that? Thanks.
Stardock have always charged for major updates. This isn't new and is pretty much how all software used to be sold. Even today Microsoft come out with a new version of Office standalone and it is an upgrade unless you are using their subscription service.
True. But the cost of the standalone upgrade for Fences is now about 4 or 5 times what new versions have cost in the past.
Well, they probably set the new pricing with the idea that they would lose some customers, so the remaining ones will have to pay more.
It's funny. When the new versions were $4, $5, etc., I would pretty much upgrade immediately. I know that software companies love the idea of a constant revenue stream, but increasing the price of nonsubscription software by a factor of 4 is untenable for me. Does "permanent license" mean just Fences version 5? That is, when Fences 6 arrives, would I need another $30 permanent license? Unless Fences 5 has 20+ really useful new major features—which is hard to imagin
Well... Perhaps I should have rebooted before I posted this. [e digicons][/e] No problems now.
Was having this problem with Fences 3. Bought Fences 4 on the strength of this post. Doesn't work. Are there any REAL fixes for this problem? Thanks.
One more question: can I connect to a VPN with one of the PCs?
Also, you will likely have to have the laptop lid open ever-so-slightly (so it does not power down) as Windows will often read that there is no monitor Well, my guess (and hope), based on the workings of some other laptops I've had, is that what happens when the lid is closed is a Windows setting that is customizable. <s
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but my situation has changed somewhat. I will soon have a laptop and a desktop, and I want to use both with one monitor. I can use the laptop screen when setting up Multiplicity KVM, and I assume I won't need to use that laptop screen after that, correct? Do I have to have administrator access to both PCs? Thanks. Rodney
OK. I have two desktop PCs but only one monitor, one mouse, and one keyboard. What can it do for me in that situation? Thanks for the response.
What does Multiplicity offer that Windows Remote Desktop does not? What am I getting for my money that Remote Desktop doesn't do for free? Thanks.
I can't seem to install any docklets. The dockzip files seem to unzip themselves into My Documents\ObjectDock library. I copy them from there to Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets. This does no good; they do not show up in the docklets box in ObjectDock. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but it would be really nice to be able to actually use the software. And one would think that Stardock would have come up with something a bit more intuitive and automated than dragging fil
I have now completely removed the enhanced dialogs from my system, as far as I can tell, so the only conclusion I can draw is that the skin itself is interfering in some way with the MRU list.
That may be, but ever since I installed Enhanced Dialogs, my MRU file list at the bottom of the Open dialog in Word 2003 is always empty. If I enter, for instance, "mar*.doc", it will display those, but if I go to Open dialog again, I have to retype it. It's not in the dropdown menu.
