I say take your time. Don't worry about releasing public beta builds until you're ready, and definitely don't rush the game to release. Just keep releasing screenshots and videos and keep us updated as to the changes that are going in. It's not like there aren't a gazillion other games out there right now to keep busy with ;)

I kindof agree on this one... Make it like Civ 4 where the improvement is automatically placed as it doesn't really matter where it goes. It's probably a holdover from galciv. If you're going to keep the same system, make it so there's a reason for placing a building in certain places (like a bonus for one building being next another).
I thought FE would be improved from WoM but wow! This is a beta 1? This is still months from release? Seriously though good job, from a core gameplay/content point of view, what we got here is leaps and bounds ahead of WoM in nearly every way. Some things I've noticed.... mostly positive, some issues to work on... - Performance! I'm amazed at how silky smooth the game is. No lag or fps dips anywhere! You weren't lying when you were stressing how m
Crashed while processing a turn... might have been OOM, used about 1 GB of memory... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/58288883/FallenEnchantress0_75-2012-01-21T03-20-55-926.zip
[quote who="scyldSCHEFING" reply="4" id="3058015"] Quoting RooksBailey, reply 2I never played MoM, but what you describe is exactly the type of fantasy strategy game I always wanted to play. Well, I don't think Stardock will mind if I tell you all that you can buy MoM from gog.com for $6... http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/master_of_magic Gog.com is run by "good guys," like Stardock: no DRM, reasonably priced titles, etc. I recommend buying i
With the FE beta coming out tomorrow and the start of yet another fun trip through the rollercoaster that is the Stardock beta process, I'd like to echo a sentiment that is on mine and probably many other's minds as well. Most of us, including myself, started following Elemental in the first place because we were looking for a successor to Master of Magic. WoM definitely wasn't it and I'm hoping that with the inevitable tweaking that will be part of the beta proc
For some reason, the intro movie doesn't play. I hear the sound, but only get a black screen when I assume there's supposed to be a movie. I assume that I'll have a problem with all other cinemas as well. I'm running it on an ATI HD 3850 with the latest drivers installed...
The sci-fi channel has gone seriously downhill since SG-1's demise... Right now, when SGA is not on, they're surviving on the last season of BSG.... and after that it's Doctor Who (!!) and Ghost Hunters... I almost never watch the sci-fi channel anymore...
I'm getting a CTD when I select the "milky way" custom map.. I then find that the map isn't in the /Twilight/custommaps/ folder. Is the map supposed to be in there? Can I just copy the one from Dark Avatar directory over there?
Wait... Please tell me that it isn't taking place in the Galciv universe in the past or something... If it's a fantasy game, make it fantasy not this stupid magic science crap. Are they saying that ancient Altaria had a whole bunch of fantasy races like elves and such?
Personally I think the game should stay as true to MOM as possible, while also updating it for the new generation of hardware. I realize that they said it will be part MOM, part Populous, and part X-COM, but I implore Stardock to first and foremost make sure it has that MOM feel. - First and foremost, it must have core civilization elements. Building cities with terrain effecting city development, and being able to upgrade the cities via buildings. And of course, a random map gener
The problem I see with that event is its rediculous explanation. If some "disgruntled worker" assassinated a foreign leader in the US, would that foreign leader declare war on the US because of what one of its citizens did? Especially if the leader was from say an ally of the US like Britain or Canada... It just doesnt make sense to me...
Here's my situation. I'm pretty much cruising towards a research (or alliance victory). I've managed to out-colonize my opponents (and got lucky finding lots of good planets to colonize). I dominate the galaxy in every way... and I have an alliance with the Arceans and a bunch of highly lucrative trade routes with them. The Drengins are on the other side of my huge galaxy and are little threat. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere I get this event where the Arcean leader gets assassi
Ever since updating to 1.1 I can't save or load games, it just hangs at the save/load screen. It doesn't crash mind you, just hangs and I have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE out...Can anyone help? I have the same problem as well, can't save or load at all!
I see the game but probably only because I downloaded the main game, movies, and tutorials already...

hmm... now multimedia is removed from the list entirely... it's possible that they're in the process of updating for release and that's causing the issues...
I seem to be having a problem DLing the final part of Galciv II data files today... it was fine yesterday but I'm getting a account information invalid message... here's the log: -- [Application] ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Stardock Central Path: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral Version: 2.29a.374, build: 117 -- [System Information] --------------------------------------------- Platform: Microsoft Windows
