Windowblinds 5 drawing problem with VLC

Video is not drawn

Somehow the video is not rendered; all I get is a nice gray area (the sound plays normally). I tried loading different media formats (MPEG, WMV and AVI) with the same results.
I had an old version (0.8.2) of VLC (www.videolan.org) and tried updating it (to version 0.8.4a, latest available) but nothing changed.
I also tried adding per application exclusions (even disabling skinning on VLC) but they don't work.
All I can do is to unload WB.

Thanks,
That "works", well sort of
I get video but disabling overlays causes flicking.
Oh well, nevermind. I'll disable WB while using VLC

I'll tell the folks at videolan, maybe they can do something...

i have been using VLC with WB5 and have no problems whatsoever...

when installing a new version of VLC make sure you choose to delete all previous VLC version, then check the 'delete preferences and cache' box....i had this problem before, with WB4.6, due to some obscure setting that had been changed in VLC...using the above to 'reset' VLC when re-installing worked for me

Go to preferences -> check the "Advanced options" box -> Video -> Output modules

Select DirectX Video Output as the output module.

OpenGL works as well, but I got video cropping with the drop down menu when I selected it.

Hope this helps
