Stardock vs Microsoft

Some of you maybe aware of a skinning community known as DeviantArt, and there is a skinner who is immensely good who posts his work there known as -kol, he created a theme for Microsoft Windows XP that was very close to the Windows Vista Theme, and as it was that good, Microsoft contacted him and asked him to remove the theme, as it was violating their intellectual property rights (usual m$ b$)

My point is this, lets say we purchase Windows Blinds 5 to save our system being skinned by a blank bitmap, and Microsoft come along and say "Hey stardock your skinning XP Screens with Vista Themeing you cant do that remove it please"

Stardock now have to remove the vista features, such as transparency and the $20 we paid we will not get the use of

Im not asking Microsoft to go ahead and ask Stardock to remove these features because i think they are tremendous and the fact that people are skinning the windows ui shows two things, firstly that the Windows XP UI isnt that great and secondly that it drives a community of users who are running Microsofts OS and probably will do just to skin it alone as a hobby - they should really complain.

Microsoft should be using this chance on the back of Vista popularity to try and gain user interest and now do some childish action that causes a general user rejection because they attacked a small guy, on a little community art site, who is damn good at what he does.

Microsoft need to grow up, or if they do it for one, they should do it for all because the big fish is still going for the little fish, youd think it would learn since netscape and everyone else its stood on to get where it is.

Because the theme used Microsoft IP, as in reply to the first post, Microsoft is not the only one who does this, nor are they the worst offender IMO (and please, don't use M$, it's highly annoying and degrades the quality of your post)

The transparancy feature of WB5 is a Stardock technology that in no way violates Microsoft IP (as far as I know anyways) so Microsoft can't force stardock to remove that feature, as froggy said
