Beta 4d: social production not working like military production

I found that bug in beta 4c , and it still here in beta 4d:
- when building factory on lighthing bonus, only the militray production get the benefit. I have bought a factory on a such title, set 100% spending, split 50/50 between military and social, and put something to build. I got: 22 for military production and 15 social production
- when building nothing (nothing in starport and nothing in the queue), no money is spend on military but money is still spend on social.

Any info if it is a bug or a feature?

Unless I missed something in your post could this discrepency be explained by the presence of other factors? Perhaps you researched more military production technologies? As in Space Militarisation. Or perhaps your race has military production bonuses but no social production bonuses?

On the subject of bonuses, are _all_ bonuses displayed in the planetary details screen? As in racial, technology, starbase, improvement, etc? Might want to break those bonuses up into categories if they are, and are lumped into one figure.

Agreed, that was going to be my question too, but I closed the window rather than hitting submit. (need more caffine). I've tried to reproduce that problem and have failed.

As was the case in Beta4C, in 4D the planet details screen does not show any Starbase bonuses. Even a maxed out Economic starbase right next to a planet doesn't show up as a bonus in the planet details screen.

I think it does, but not in the starbase bonus section of the screen. In 4b it was shown as part of the production bonus figure listed in the same box as the morale and economic figures. On planets where I had no improvement based bonuses, but had a fully equiped economic starbase within range, a production bonus of 210% was listed. Coincidentially the starbase production bonus was 210%.

Ok, I will try to be complete.
I am playing Thalan (some bonus for military production and social production, I think it is 20%) without modifying anything, and on the first turn of the game (no starbase and no space militarization tech for Thalan).
I have bought a factory on a square with a lightning (200% bonus to manufacturing), set 100% spending split 50/50 between military and social. And I don't understand why the production is different between military and social. The home planet give 20 manufacturing BC, the factory 6
Military: 10 (home planet) + 3 (factory) + 3*2 (lighthing bonus) + 13 * 0.2 (racial bonus) = 10 + 3 + 6 +3 (rounding up) = 22
Social: 10 (home planet) + 3 (factory) + 13 * 0.2 (racial bonus) = 10 + 3 + 2 (rounding down this time) = 15
That is the only way I can explain the numbers I see.

And there is also the fact that you waste BC on social production if not building anything, contrary to military

From the user manual (draft 2):

Military Production, represented by shields, will be spent constructing ships if the planet has a Star Port. If the planet has
29
no Star Port, or if the Star Port doesn’t have a ship queued for construction, the number above the shields will be in parenthesis. In this case, the shields are not drawing bc from your treasury. Each shield represents one manufacturing point being spent.
Social Production, represented by hammers, is spent on projects. If you have no projects queued, the number above the hammers will be in parenthesis. In this case, the hammers are not drawing bc from your treasury. Each hammer also represents one manufacturing point.

So the fact that I am wasting BC when not building anything is definetly a bug.

The problem is still here in beta 4e. But this time, I was lucky to see it better, thanks to a precursor mine (+700%).

- I am playing Thalan (50% bonus in both military and social production)
- It is the first turn, and I have bought a factory on a precursor mine (+700 bonus)
- I have nothing in the military queue and the social queue.
- I have set 100% spending split 50/50 between social and military

The military production is displayed as: (75)
And this is correct since I am expecting:
20*0.5*1.5 + 10*8*0.5*1.5 = 15 + 60 = 75 mp that shoudln't cost me anything since I have nothing in the queue

But the social production is displayed as: 50.
This means that the social production bonus from my race isn't taken into account and that I must pay the social production even if I have nothing in the queue.
