Which context menu? There are context menus specific to each application. If you could link to a screenshot, that would definitely help!

Which version of the WindowBlinds 5 Beta are you running and do you have any Windows service packs installed?

Since WindowBlinds is still in beta, it's hard to give the highest priority to every bug we come across. Please do keep in mind though, that any beta might be unstable, because as Wikipedia defines it, "A beta version or beta release usually represents the first feature complete version of a computer program or other product, likely to be unstable but useful for internal demonstrations and previews to select customers."

Following your response, I will submit the bug.

Thank you for participating in the WindowBlinds 5 Beta test!

Sorry for not being specific inough. Ok, it is XPPro SP2, and WB5 is 4.90g(b)0 as of Oct18. Any window that opens after rihtclicking mouse is BLACK, i.e.not readable.Since I have not seen any other post stating the same problem, I assumed the problem is with my machine only.As for the term BETA, I'm aware of its meaning.
Thank for your help

I had this problem also. I am running an ATI Radeon 9800 pro All-In-Wonder graphics board. There is an option to run "Hydravision" which has "Desktop Management" and "effects" options like running transparent menus and shadows etc. When I disabled this, (unload desktop manager) the "black" highlighted text problem went away. Look to see if you have any effects options turned on via your graphics card. There may be a conflict between these and WB5.

Great pointer Artifact85. I was wondering, if the WindowFX has conflicts with WB5 beta, wouldn't other transparency effects not innate to XP have a conflict...?

While I will never claim to understand these conflicts from the code level, I have fiddled with these kind of problems enough to get a rough feel for the kinds of combinations that may cause these problems. In short, yes, I would think that having the same kind of "effect" being run simultaneously from two different sources could creat some unusual (unintended and unwanted) results. That's why I disabled the transparency option in Hydravision when I saw the result after installing WB5. This fixed the symptom, not the cause.

Workarounds, don't ya love having to use them?

Vema: Did Artifact85's advice resolve your situation? If not, try checking both boxes on the "Troubleshooting" page in the WindowBlinds Configuration window.

Let us know if you get your problem resolved.

Unfortunately no, I have disabled all effects in my Nvidia videocard and checked both boxes in Troubleshooting" page in the WindowBlinds Configuration window, but BLACK window appears all the time.As I'm writing this comment I have noticed that within Internet Explorer rightclick opens window normaly but if I hit taskbar or any place on the empty desktop, problem persists.

There is a new update for WB beta 5, Verma. See if you get anything out of that one.

That's gold Hapkido, GOLD!

Vema: What version are your videocard drivers?

Also, could you copy/paste the text from the "Troubleshooting" section of the WindowBlinds configuration window?

We're all hoping to get this working for you, please keep us informed!

Also "YZ Shadow" will give the same effect. Seems only one program at a time can mess with the alpha transparency.
