If you go to Start Button Attributes, I think you'll find you have the 'Windows paint the flag' option enabled. Set that to disabled and all should be fine.

From your screenshot you are have problem with user pane, you however have cropped top of image where user pane would be so we cannot see what is wrong/happening. If you post a full screenshot and a bit of a description of what you are wanting or think is wrong. The thing I see in the screenshot is the logoff turnoff buttons are not centered on bottom bar image. If this is problem may be bottom bar image size to small or content margins for bottom bar need adjusting. Or the default buttons size may be larger than your bottom bar image.

In Skinstudio click XP taskbar, click on start button in preview. On right of preview is attributes, Windows paint the flag is third item, click on it, below preview will be a drop box, click button select disabled, save.
SS window, SkinStudio, I did not notice the start button the first time as I was looking at the skinstudio window in pic. It may have been better to post a pic of just the taskbar with start button circled.

I don't mean to be rude, but will she get this at all? I mean she seems to sound like she doesn't know much at all about windows. I suggest she reads up on windows a bit more. JMO. I could be wrong you know. Hope she gets it though.
