oh well, beggers can't be choosers
Going wildly back off-topic [because I can]...the Ashes victory was 'won' by Warnie dropping one catch.....not 'much' of a resounding win....
It's a very good assumption that the Ashes will be back with the Aussies in 18 months.....I know I'll be going.....to see it happen....
The World 11 might not have played 'on the same side' together...but they would certainly know each other's reputations.......they ARE the World's best [excluding the Aussies] as a selection. People such as Afridi....strike rate of 108+....and some Duck-farmer called Lara....
One thing still rings true...
England 'invented' cricket....but it took the Aussies to 'perfect' it....
Thanks again everybody!

yes, where would the aussie team be without warnie...perhaps not so far ahead of everyone else...
it was a very thrilling and exciting series, the best i can ever remember, two fantastic teams playing three months of exhilarating cricket, and all done with an amazing sense of sportsmanship...an example to the rest of the sporting world....england still can't believe we won, so a little gentle gloat is still in order...we've had to put up with decades of being labeled whinging poms (which i always thought meant 'Prisoner Of her Majesty'
) and losing to you guys.....and yes, you do have the top team in the world, that's why it was so good to win...
jolly good show all round

Oh, very much so....definitely the best test series in a very long time.....real edge of the seat stuff....[try telling that to a cricket-non-believer....that a 5 day match could have you on the edge of your seat....for 5 days...
]
Brilliant stuff.....and there was nothing better than actually having 'real' opposition for once.....
Of course....if it were the Kiwis who beat us.......nuvver story....

Of course, if it wasn't for another dropped catch it would have been 3-1 instead of 2-1
And without Warne's record breaking 40 wickets it would have been a massacre
Jafo (admin, sir
), here's what england's mouth of the north, Derek 'Robbo' Robson, on the bbc, has to say about the present series:Super Pooper
Well what a waste of time this super series has been. I know what the problem's been for the World XI - no Bangladeshis.
Seriously though, I've never seen a team less interested than this motley crew. There's nothing in it for any of them, especially big Freddie who's proved his worth and could do without this bogus bonus right now.
Kallis and Lara still need reminding that there's no 'I' in cricket. Kallis is right up there with Boycs when it comes to looking after number one.
The worst thing is that it's such an expensive way to make the Aussies feel good about themselves again.
Never mind, there's a six-day Test coming up. 'Yeah right. How long's that going to last?' I chuckled to the missus. 'Well, six days, Derek' she sneered.
A long conversation ensued and I've put her straight. Roll on proper games between proper teams. This has been total cods.

Bash could keep this alive. Well, I probably could too.
