WB 5 beta issues >:-(

1st off - what a hassle to even get the skins to apply! i was stuck with some classic looking thing even though i had restarted. i ended up uninstalling it, making sure windows was in classic mode, then reinstalling, restarting, and finally applying skins. i was somewhat impressed... but have reverted back to a regular skin instead of those new ones... that fact that you can only click the text is a challenge lol esp when i have tons of windows open and have to find the text of that one to move the window - and the roll-up effect doesn't seem to work with any either. anyways, here are some screenshots of various parts of the wb config window that are having issues for me ~ black spaces all over the place! (if they become dead links it's cuz i'm only allowed so much bandwidth per month for hosting)

i have latest drivers for chipsets on board and for video card, and recently updated BIOS.. those things occur for all the skins included with this new build of window blinds

Well the odd colours on the titlebar of that perpixel skin can be fixed by downloading WB 4.90a which went on SDC a while ago.

Right click overrides are not operational for per pixel skins yet.

The black issues in wbconfig are new to me.  Unsure why that would happen right now, but I will look into it.

i just got the update that came out for 4.9 like a couple min ago - i still receive the "black issue" on the wbconfig - but now the stealthos skin, which was used in the screen shots, seems to have proper titlebar coloring and it can be clicked on now. *still have the issue of opening say, My Documents, and it have classic before i click it

Just installed new version and no problems at all. Its going to take a bit to get used to the new controls, (havent been able to find where to delete skins for instance,) but aside from that seems fine, no black blotches, no probs at all(crossing fingers)

grcentral002: Are you running windowfx?  If so its not WB5 compatible yet.

i have winfx, but only for shadows ~ that's all it is used for - i guess i can disable it

okay - turned off the autoload w/ windows, and unloaded it - it solved the strange classic view i got when opening up anything, and it also allows anything i click to open a lot faster - like clicking on My Documents or My Pictures, the system would hang for a second, the load up the window, but would be in classic mode, so would click on it and it would switch to theme. not it opens right away and w/o the classic look... hm so figured out that problem at least. but i still have the black appearing on wbconfig

Everything seems to be working for me, but I have a question. How do you delete skins now? I don't see any option in the config panel and the button no longer exists on the display properties - appearance tab. Never mind I found it.

apparently after battling my computer having started running in circles doing chkdsk everytime it booted up *don't even ask.... it was a horrible night and i have no idea how it started either and couldn't get into safe mode... i was quite frustrated* so after battling that for about 1-2 hours trying to get out of the cycle i dug out the xp pro disk my friend gave me *completely legit from the dell machine he had before it crashed on him* and did a complete reinstall of windows. well, now those stupid black areas are gone from the wb5 beta! and wb5 ran perfect on first run. i was quite impressed. so, i have solved my own problem.

After Installing WB 5 Beta I got the following error message:
Windll32.exe has caused an error and must be terminated. Repport to Microsoft/ Or not
