Object Edit

Object edit

I was told by one of the other skinners, about Object Edit, I have been trying to get a copy of it, but I can't seem to find it. I have a copy of Objectdesktop 2005, but it does not have object edit. how do I get a copy?

If you open Stardock Central and go to Object Desktop it should be on the list. If there is a button at the bottom of the top panel which says 'more', click on that to see more programs

you can also find it in your start menu/all programs/stardock/object desktop/

...not if you haven't installed it yet

Hey! Who deleted the rest of my sentence? The part that said "once you have it installed via SDC."? hmmmmmm?

I have opened stardock central and I do not have a listing for object edit, not is there a button or a link at the bottom that says more. Is the object edit apart of an older version of Objectdesktop?

You haven't got it hidden in Stardock Central by any chance? Check SDC View, Show/Hide Applications...

Current beta release candidate 1.69a.002 is available right now.

Naw, I tried to show all hidden programs and object edit is still not listed

Do you have both the Wincustomize Subscription and Object Desktop Subscription?

http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe install right over the one you have. Before you run the install, go to SDC settings and un-check 'Show the More/Less Application List'

When I select show hidden programs I can see the object edit in the list but when I select show it or all hidden programs by selecting reset, it still does not display it.

Some components only show if "show pre-release (beta) versions is checked e.g. Stardock Virtual Desktops. That said, the OE "released" version that shows up in my SDC is 1.67.007.

What version of SDC are you using? Mine is 2.10.343 build 95. On Windows XP?

You posted a link to redownload the stardock central, so it now says the same as yours, 2.10.343, build 95, I too have Windows XP. I noticed that when I reinstalled it there was a place for a serial number, but it said that was optional. Do you think that mattered?

Oh, and thanks for your help!

Yes. If it was blank on the install then you haven't registered it.....open the 'Registration Info' in lower right corner of SDC and register your Object Desktop Subscription with the serial # from Stardock......

You should end up with a list of 20-30 components when you get registered correctly - you've probably only been seeing "free" stuff.

It's worth using OE - the syntax highlighting is very handy (and the ability to create your own "syntax styles". Only thing I hate is the printing support is weird - doulble spaced lines; prints even when you click cancel; so just watch out for that.

Good luck!

and the code folding seem to work now. at least in CSS files.
