Request: Change all costs related to engines

Engines are totally unbalanced. As you get new technologies that allow new engine types, the old engine types become completely obsolete. I would like to see other players opinions on how to make this better.

When a higher tech-level engine comes available, what difference should we see for the engine stats?

- engine price (higher or lower?)
- engine size (bigger or smaller?)
- engine Moves per Turn (what engine types should go faster than 1/turn?)
- anything else?

Hm.. I think the only unbalansed thing is that Hyperdrive engines way worse then all others.

Also I think the entire aproach is not good but it's too late to change I believe.
Ideally I "imagine" to have 2 types of engines - 1 for moving on the map (hyperdrive) and one for combat (fleet combat/sublight) so ships with high manevrability could "move in", atack , and retrieat beyond weapons range of the enemy.
(Btw: this also requires "weapons range" to be added to combat weapons characteristics).
It allso will require that every buttle even 1 ship agains 1 ship would be "fleet battle" not "map battle".

I believe most people here would agree with me but I am afraid that the game engine is currently on went too far in development to perform such major change.
