continue game button on main screen freezes game

accidentally hit this instead of load game, completely froze the game. Ended up restarting. Tried it again to make sure it wasnt a random freeze. Repeated 3 times in a row.

for me it crashed to desktop with a message that galciv2.exe has encountered a problem.
