All you need is a WindowBlinds-Skin which has a compact start-menu. There are hundreds of them in the WindowBlinds gallery, just take your time and browse for one.

If you haven't done already, install WindowBlinds https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ > reboot > then double-click on the downloaded skin (if you use IE and your WinXP works properly, the skins install themselves and you don't need to do double-click).

To choose a skin, right-click on the WindowBlinds icon in the system tray > 'configure WindowBlinds' > and choose a skin which has a 'compact' sub-style (the sub-styles are available from a drop-down menu underneath "Apply this skin now"). Once a skin which has a compact sub-style is applied, you will notice that the text in the places menu has disappeared.

hello.
thank you for your answer.
it is not what I seek.
I manufacture my skin with skinstudio and I want to remove the text in this part of the startmenu.
I do not see indications in skinstudio to do that.
thank you still.
bye.

There is no need to remove the text (i.e. you can't remove it). All you have to do is to make your places list 60-70 pixels wide instead of 190 pixels. Also make sure you adjust the size of the Userpane on top and as well as the Bottom Bar. I.e if your Places List is 60 Pixels and your Programs list is 190 pixels wide, make sure your User Pane and Bottom Bar are 250 pixels wide and set it in SkinStudio accordingly.

All you have to do then is to adjust your Content Margins for the Places list. If some of the text is still visible reduce the space reserved for the content.
