As far as I have found on a regular system without using any program enhancements - the block is there unless you use a color that matches your wall.

Iconx will make it go away.

I have the same problem, Bruce. I have tried everything I can think of, but no luck making the icon background transparent again!! I use XP, Home Ed. and can create new user accounts, all of which have the transparent icon background, so suspect I have changed a setting in Stardock or WinCustomize or Desktop X, and forgot what and where. Lemme' know if you find a solution.

okay,

try = my computer, view system information, advanced tab, performance settings, visual effects tab, scroll down and see if 'use drop shadows for icon labels' is checked {might have to use 'custom'
