What prerequisitions must a Boot Screen have?

I have build some Boot Screens with Photoshop but always when i boot my PC there is a black/orange/white or blue Screen.
So here my Question: What prerequisitions must a Boot Screen have?

I think the word you're looking for is prerequisite (Required as a prior condition)

And you speak english well enough to be understood..wish I could speak a single word of German as well..I'll just have to stick to english and my broken spanish..::laughs::
