everytime I install the latest version of Galactic Civilations I lose sound fx and music gets messed too. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Since you're saying every time, does that mean that the sound eventually restores itself after playing with the update for awhile, or that you've been uninstalling/re-installing?

Please run dxdiag and send the report to me along with your debug.err.
