Newbee question

OK, I have played through almost twice - Getting the hang of most of this, but I have one burning question. Is there a way to tell how much influence each race has in a given sector without having to do the math? Is there a screen somewhere that shows "Sector 1, humans 30 influence, Drengin 40 influence,..." etc?
I know you can show ownership in the mini-map, but it would be nice to know how much I would need to increase my influence in a given sector to take it away.
Thanks in advance for you input :)

There is a color button that let you know how many sectors your culture owns. If the sector has your color it belongs to you, the only way to increase more culture influence in that particular sector is to build starbases.

Yep...there's a couple of ways. Click F8 and you'll get a summary of how much influence is in the sector your Main map is centered on. There's also a button next to the Sector ID box that does the same thing.

Part of the fun of the metaverse is being a part of an empire. The Jedi Republic is one such empire. When you post your scores to the metaverse they will be figured into the empire's total as well as letting you have your own score in the individual standings. The fun comes in with one empire trying to "take over" another.

If you click on the metaverse button and then on the left you can click top empires and you will see the listings. Clicking on the empire name will take you to the empire's page. There are buttons to allow you to join. You can only be in one empire at a time. You can also create your own empire should you desire to do so.

But, really, you know you want to be in the Jedi Republic.... ;)

Joining an empire can enhance your experience with the game by allowing you to join a group of like-minded players. For example, the Fellowship of the Ring empire is loosely based around the Lord of the Rings storyline. We role play a bit, but mainly our empire seeks to help other players with any questions they may have. We are currently in first place in the Metaverse.

Look around at all the empire communication threads and the empire websites (http://www.galciv.org) and see if empiring is right for you. And enjoy the game!

So tell me, Admiral Mayito sir, why your empire is any better than another? Before I give up my Sovereignty to join an empire I want to know what is in it for me.

I have billions of subjects who are happy with my benevolent rule. Why should I turn them over to someone who may be a despot? I am responsible for billions of lives! I must protect my people!
