Re-install IconPackager, restore your icons to Windows defaults (Tools/Restore all icons) on the drop down menu. Then uninstall IconPackager. If you uninstall without restoring the icons, you leave pointers in the registry to icons that no longer exist on your system, so Windows shows the default icon.

Hope this helps.

I would like to know the answer to this one too. I have the same issue, though I use IconPackages so it is installed and while it is installed the icons stay correct.

I have seen the message "Error loading Cache.dll" telling me to reinstall to correct the problem. I have not tried it yet, but the next time I uninstall if I have to, I am going to "Rebuild icon cache" and then "Restore all icons" before uninstall to see if that helps.

Also going to contact support to ask for ideas, and will let you know if I get some insight.

kalak, try first reapplying an IconPackager theme, then use the Restore Default Icons command.
