Now this is getting really crazy and annoying.

As you can see, I've changed my nick, and now I just changed directories to my root folder in the C drive, taken out letters in the filenames, and LOOK: my skin still isn't getting through the system. It says an error has occured. It just keeps saying that. How loopy is that? Oter peoples bootskins are going. > I'll email it to someone if this keeps up. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

I tried again today and it seems that my uploading future must have hit the dust. I want to let people know that I've been trying to upload for a month now, and my head is adout to blow off (steam's already coming out my ears > ).

Meowy, What exactly are you uploading?
What file form is it in?
What type of file is your screenshot?
What is your browser?
A firewall can screw things up sometimes.

Gee!!! Whoever said that an image is worth a thousand words?
That cute anim gif of the download... great!
The difference is, the one who would get RED angry is me, when I see my download somehow disappear! >

Uploading BootSkin. In .bootskin format. ScreenShot is .jpg. I've tried with bot h Firefox and IE.

And it STILL WONT WORK. >

Why don't you take all the unnecessary stuff out of your user name? I think this has been mentioned before but you keep doing it and then complaining about it. Question marks and astericks in a user name may cause trouble for you. No one else seems to have trouble uploading who don't have unneccessary symbols in their name.

Have you tried renaming the 'bootskin' extension to 'zip' and uploading it then?
I read the first post - all I saw was frownys... Read answer #1...
What I don't get is why .bootskin worked before and everything else did too, but now nothing does.
Jafo, I'll send you a message sometime.
It won't work with .zip extension it says it's improper extension.

Meow....can you upload anything at all to anywhere?

And in particular....here?....

My advice would be along the same lines as jafo's. Try upload an image to the graphics section and see what happens then
Reply #21 Top
yes i can upload art.
'art'...as in graphics section or walls?
graphics. whoever moderated it must have seen it was a test! It's only funny if you see the name and the preview.

OK...this is hereby formally solved.

https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=32&SkinID=1929

What went wrong?

First I thought it was a dodgey zip....and sure enough you 'could' have zipped with 'relative paths' intact so the file would unzip with folder name added.

But...

That wasn't it....3 test ups later it still wasn't working....renamed files, etc...no help.

Then clever me looked at the preview image....640x480 jpg.....900k?....what's that negative compression?

Sure enough, it was infact a renamed bmp [bitmap] posing as a jpg.

That ain't gonna work....not in this laddies' lifetime.

Graphic proggies can convert a bmp to a jpg, etc....but it definitely cannot be achieved by editing the name.

All you need do is 'save-as' and find 'Jpeg, jpg format' and you're laughing....

Put ya money on the fridge....
