So if the author can never be contacted is there any period of time before you could release that theme?

If the author can't be contacted, then permission can never be gained. As far as a time limit is concerned, copyrights last for the life of the author plus 70 years.

csurfside...yep, Koasati tells it like it is.... Doodle [Doodlebug]  hasn't been seen in quite a while...but Turtle is his creation and his consent would be needed for any mod/redistribution...

Csurfside.... as they have so kindly put. i cant (and wouldnt) release any mods, ports, updates, etc.. without doodle bug (Aka) (the ridlah)'s permission.. the desktop i posted was deriveted from doodles killer theme set called,Turtlesoup II..i hope that in my travels across the net i will happen to encounter him and get permission. while the step/code for the new litestep version is mine. the images are still made from doodles stuff and without them the code is useless... the manipulations of his images i have done for the mods still fall under copywrite....i agree that his stuff smokes. and would be a shame to see it lost .....

csurfside, you can always get doodle's litestep theme itself. It's still one of the best of all times: http://www.customize.org/details/8863

Wow, pretty cool. Once I got through all the pop-ups I was able to see the images and I am very impressed. I guess I should inlude Doodle in my report...

Yes, yes, yes That is all well and good. I know of the famous Turtle and where the original can be found.

But what you have done 'HG_Eliminator' simply blows that version out of the water. Why must you tease everyone by posting that on your desktop screenshot. I have even put it as my back ground and just imagined it was really mine.

Have you no guilt?

HG: I know exactly what you're going through - its almost three years since I made the Hoverdesk theme. Ive gotten countless release requests too and almost equal amount of permission mails have been sent, but no replies :/

Yo Paul, is that LS only? If not, it could make a very interesting WB!

carolelee: it's part of Doodle's litestep theme.  Download it from one of the above links and grab the wall from it.

Question?

First off. ODNT What does that stand for eactly. I've heard others passing the word around.

Second. Would it be ok if someone did a window blind of tutle soup, or let me guess. That would still have to have permission

1): ODNT: Object Desktop Network
2) Correct. Permission needed.
