there's 12 to 14 thousand people here, but it is still a small town. yeah, phoon, a tornado went thru town last night. no damage in my area of town tho. some homes by the hospital were damaged and a couple of businesses on teh northern edge of town were destroyed. a few other businesses were damaged, too. a housing development (consisting of manufactured housing) for senior citizens took a blow. i've been told a few homes were damaged pretty badly. an apartment building lost it's roof and part os the walls. i've been told that there were no major injuries, tho. the worst i've heard is a broken arm suffered by an elderly lady. things could have been much worse. if it had happened during the day when people were out and about...well, you know.... and wom, you know who i am

We had the same mess, not too much damage though, thank goodness and no one was injured. I did get some really cool photos out of it. The neighbors probably think I'm rather wierd, sitting on the front porch with a camera while the sirens are sounding. Glad you were missed Snidely, hope recovery is quick.

MGiff, where was the beast?

One spotted about 10 miles southwest of us, two 5-6 miles east and another about 3-4 miles north. Just warnings, of course, NWS hasn't determined anything yet. I never heard the noise nor felt the drop in pressure so I figured it was safe enough to photograph the wonderful light show.

Most of all I am glad that you are fine.

Now if you had been standing outside my window where you belong you it would have missed you completely.
