Getting copies of new releases of software I already own

Why is it so difficult to get new releases of software that I already own?  Just now I wanted the new version of Start11.  In the Support area there is a short section called something like "accessing software though a Stardock account" (which I have).  It says that it can be done, but doesn't say anything about how to do it.  The same text appears in a number of places.  I looked in several places without finding anything helpful and finally downloaded the trial version, which I hope will work for what I want to do.  This happens almost every time I need to download something because I don't remember the Stardock quirks with the process.

Also, why are the version number and release date not made available when software is downloaded?  Is that information some sort of secret?  I want it because I save copies of installation files after renaming them to include the name, version number and release date of the software.  That lets me know whether I have the latest version or not.  If I get a notice that there's a new version I know that I probably need to download it, but if I just go to download it, I don't know whether I would be getting a different version than the one I already have.

Just in general, it annoys me, but not as much as what Stardock does, when companies show the version number and release date on the page where you start a download, but not on the page that comes up after the download starts (which is when I want it, so I can change the filename then, rather than having to remember it or go back later for it.

Another comment:  Why did I have to login again to get into this area?  I was already logged to my Stardock account.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have issue getting to your account product download page? https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

or click on here

And from what I can check. You should be able to check the version information from the installation file itself, by looking into its property.

Thank you,
Basj,
