Moving Desktop Icons to Fences Folder

I am unable to move icons from desktop to fences folder. Each time I move one to a fences folder the icon immediately returns to the original spot on the desktop.  I followed the instructions for unlocking but there is no option for me to unlock fences.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. You on Windows 10 or 11? Also need Windows version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get it.
  2. Fences full version number installed.
  3. Do you have any other application running in your system which might conflict with Fences. For example 360 Total Security which silently installed its own desktop organizer utility. Ref: https://forums.stardock.com/494957/get;3749819

For the lock/unlock function: Refer here to get it to appear: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1621360668/Show+%22Lock+Fences%22+in+Fences+5

Thank you,

This will happen if the product is not activated correctly. Please open the configuration dialog and verify the program is activated?

Windows 11 Pro. Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.4946).

Fences Version 5.89 (Revision 2)

No security programs that conflict.

Interesting, I have several Fences folders and I don't have the problem with all of them.  Is there a setting for Fences Configuration I need to check?

When I first installed Fences, I created folders e.g. Productivity, Installed Programs, Religious Material, Photography.  I moved icons from my desktop into the approprriately named Fences folder.  Now, when I try to move a desktop icon into, say, the Fences folder named "Installed Program", the icon immediately return to the place on my desktop it was in before I tried to move it into the Fences folder.

I believe it is best if you post a video showing it happening.
