Email Grimlin

I just got an email with the "From:" line saying, "eil-at-stardock.com". (The "at" is a representation of the @ sign so it would show in the thread.) It has an attachment that is titled "violence.zip". The body of the message says simply, "Do you have the bug too?" I use Mailwasher so I didn't d/l the email, but I'm reasonably sure it's a virus of some sort. First time I've gotten one from a Stardock address so I thought I'd let y'all know there's either an infected 'puter in our midst, or someone is purposely playing games. Take care.

I've gotten several from different addresses at Stardock, including one that said it was from Kris. I sent him an e-mail and he replied telling me that there are some viruses out there that are apparently using Stardock addresses in the from field. Hopefully it will subside soon.

Thanks for the warning, I probably would of opened it being it was from Stardock, that is if Norton didn't catch it. This should be in the news section or a sticky.

DON'T open any attachments from anyone, if you're not expecting it. The from fields are spoofed in the new viruses(sp?) I constantly get emails, to and from, accounts that don't even exist on my own domain.

Probably Netsky.D - it's been hitting our mail server all day today. Fortunately we always have our corporate condom on...
