i got ya kona, fishing for more opinions tho.

stumpy: you underestimate my friend. he is the most harsh of critics, and he knows design theory very well. in many ways he is a mentor to me. by 'very interesting remarks', i can elaborate in short: we discussed what i was going for versus the traditionally more important issues of web design: heiarchy, placement of the navigation, ease of viewing, flexability. in all ways i went against the grain. so traditionally it would fail. however it sparked discussion and interest in the elements, and overall decided it was going to work. thus i began building. thus you see the progress.

If the target audience is fellow graphic designers using IE then it works.

I personnally don't like orange (teracotta) and white, but that's because it's the colours used for where I work and it looks tired and old to me because of that...I'm sure to other people those colours conjour up fresh oranges, and good things like that

The layout actually works fine. The menu is obvious despite it's possition, the roll-overs work well and the graphics fit the style. The navigation works fine - obvious and clear. Overall, it's good.

thanks sput. my big concern is 'obvious and clear' while being different. looking to see thats accomplished before i continue.

Try blue and white. That might look a little better. Easier on the eyes too. Other than that, it looks good.

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
a sense of obligation."

I generally like it and the color too. I wish this text was a little easier to read
