managing taskbar with Start11 2.5

Taskbar manager will not run

In Start11 2.5, when I try to let Start11 manage my taskbar buttons, I get this message: "You already have something else managing your taskbar buttons so that cannot be enabled until that is disabled." My problem is that I have absolutely no idea what, other than Windows, would be managing my taskbar, and I have disabled every option for Taskbar in Windows settings. What would be managing my taskbar buttons without my knowledge? I have no other utility that obviously offers that function. thanks.

If you reboot does the problem continue?

If so can you post a screenshot of your taskbar please.

Rebooting does not eliminate the issue. Screenshot below:

Blank area to left of Quicken icon is icon for start menu button.

Thanks for you help.

That does not look like a Windows 11 taskbar.

Do you have a tool like explorer patcher installed perhaps?

First, basj had recommended my running your purge batch file, but my Bitdefender antivirus software blocks it, even when I suspend protection. So, I tried uninstalling and cleaning all references to Start11 out of the registry. Then, I reinstalled. The problem persists. I am willing to try the batch file again if I can figure out how to bypass my protection software and if I can verify that I am downloading that file from Stardock.

Second, the screenshot above is my Windows 11 Pro taskbar. I have a very wide screen and can show many more icons than I could on narrower screens. Not sure how to get this clarified.

Third, I have not intentionally installed explorer patcher or any similar program as far as I know. I do, however, run several utilities. Is there a search I can do to determine whether such a patcher or other taskbar utility is installed?

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried to set bitdefender to exclude batch file as mentioned here: https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/90542/how-can-i-prevent-bitdefender-from-quarantining-my-batch-files?

Also, need more information on your Windows.

  1. Need to know your Windows 11 full version and OS Build number, please use Winver.exe.
  2. Windows 11 pro or Home?

Thank you,
Basj,

Can you uninstall start11, reboot and then take a screenshot of your taskbar please without Start11 installed.

Done. Would it help if I sent a screenshot of installed programs and features from Control Panel?

That appears to be a screenshot of the Windows 10 taskbar so the most likely explanation is you have a tool called ExplorerPatcher installed on your computer.

This is why Start11 is telling you something else is managing your taskbar.

That did it. Thanks. I had never knowingly installed ExplorerPatcher, but it was there and now is gone. My problem is fixed.
