Fences 5 tries to re-install after each reboot

I currently have Fences 5.8.6.8 installed (11-13-2024).  After the machine has completed a reboot and settled for about 5 minutes, Fences prompts me to install what seems to be an upgrade.  The process holds at the standard license approval pop-up.  Accepting the terms follows by what appears to be a standard installation although no indication of what version is shown.  After the required reboot is performed, the Fences version has NOT changed and we get the same pop-up again.  Rinse and repeat.  Please advise.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know do you use any 3rd party software update manager such as IObit Software updater? There were few similar report on this issue and one of culprit is this software.

You hit the nail on the head!  IOBit Updater is installed but somehow recently changed its configuration to only notify me of updates.  I installed the latest beta of Fences and the problem went away.  Thanks.

I would recommend just leaving the app to handle updates, otherwise this may well happen again next time the public version is updated.
