v2.49.2 CustomInstallExec.exe not found on universal application launch

Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.2605)

 

When trying to launch certain games / apps under universal applications for the first time, get the following error when windows is trying to install some dependencies for the game. Looks like mostly DX or VC++ redists.

Looks like this exists on my machine but its...

C:\Windows\System32\CustomInstallExec.exe

Maybe case is an issue?

Pretty sure this has always been an issue, not just on the new beta.

 

Added details:


This only seems to run when the UWP application's appmanifest.xml contains a customInstallActions in <Capabilities> and has a windows.customInstall section.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, please try these steps. Uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important). Redownload latest version from your account, install it, reboot again, retest and report back.

Windows file systems are not case sensitive so it shouldn't be that.

Same thing on a clean install of windows. Also happens in v2.49.3, happens on multiple machines also.
