Is it possible to remove any highlight in the menu

I cannot take any screenshots as the menu refuses it. But any color option lead to an highlight color too light on a white font. So when highlighted, I cannot see what is written.

So I ask you kindly to provide me a solution.

This happens on items highlighted cause the mouse is over it but also new items

I tried to set my color (yellow) and use auto color

Also, why don’t you add options for dark / light mode (splitted)

Don’t you know that auto dark mode exists (GitHub - AutoDarkMode/Windows-Auto-Night-Mode: Automatically switches between the dark and light theme of Windows 10 and Windows 11)

This is the main reason why I don’t use windowblinds... I still want to use start11 (if you check my account you will see I am a stardock supporter), however, now that a lot of apps support dark and light mode, your softwares have been left behind and don’t support it in any way.

Feel free to say me I am wrong and that they support light and dark mode cause I would be really happy. However, even if they don’t I need a solution.

See below what I get:

EDIT: I click reach support... it made a new post on forum... stupid. But I let that like that... won’t rewrite it.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First need to know.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe
  2. Start11 full version number.

Thank you.

I tried but, I can not get white hover tile over dark text. It will always have white text on white or light hover tile. I have not tested, but I think it can be done with Windowblinds. (Start11 modern style)

Windowblinds does not have light/dark management.

It is also something that needs a lot of time to create your theme.

Curtain was better on this... But no more curtains

So this is a big no for me. And that's not the price, i have bought it. However, I won't buy next major version cause of these points.

For Start11, I have found that I can use it with automated colors. However, the app has a problem with how text is managed when highlighted. Too often, you see unreadable text with white or lighter colors over white.

This point should be fixed

May I know how you make your hover over tile look light gray/white? This is the minimum light I can get on my system. The white text still readable with dark gray tiles. I tried changing it to white but it will not change to white. Do you use special setting for it?

Thank you,

In Start11 it was happening with automated colors also.

I wanted to show the image of my settings in windows menu (customize part)... but the forum seems to be really slow and I cannot post the reply with an image.

Basically, I used light mode for windows app. So nothing really and totally strange....

It may come from the fact I changed in registry the highlight windows color, But windowblinds was allowing that a long time ago (did not checked in windowblinds 11 as this app doesn’t manage light/dark modes, and I don’t want to spend my time changing theme every days... I did not install auto dark mode to have to change things manually).

Maybe, this something to do with your issue on white highlight color on white text causing hard to read. Possible that Windows or Start11 do not detect your manual changed that color so it did not automatically change the text color. However, to be sure, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you.
