why don't you ask swissboy?

he made that one, and I have seen him in the bootskin comments. I doubt it would be too much of a problem for him too. If he doesn't It isn't hard to do. ask for help and I am sure someone (maybe even me) will help you make a bootskin out of that. And if you can get swissboy's permission you could upload it here

swissboy wants to maintain proprietorship of his works and is unlikely to grant permission for others to port or modify his works in any form or variation...

Bootskins are easy to make, it will not take a lot to turn that picture into a bootskin, read the threads and give it a try

Sure. First take the original bitmaps and put them in a PiratedEdition3 folder in bootskin's skin directory. Then, copy another bootskin's bootskin.ini file to the PiratedEdition3 folder and change the name and autor of the boot. Change the name of the bitmaps to the ones that are in the folder, and the progress bar X and Y are wher the bar is located and the width(i think thats what it is called) is the length of the bars spinning area.

Read the thread entitled "Bootskins For All" this is a full explaination of how to make skins for Bootskin, they really are quite simple

"his work" ... one cradle of Dom Perignon for the one that shows me that more than 5% of the stuff that guy uploads is actually "his".
he even tried to sell other peoples stuff a while ago.
nice reading: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=106085

Here's your 'nice reading', moshi....

[copy/paste from that link]

"About stolen work: I'm not posting any work from other authors as me own. When ever possible (known e-mail adress) I'm asking the authors for expressly permission to use their work for making boot screens (95% their give me the permission). If I not can contact them or their not response, I give at minimum full credit to the original authors and make a link to the original. Many graphic artists give me also general permission to use their work (for example Greg Martin "yooo5o0", "lockheart7ca", "LadyWolf" and many more). Also some of my boot screen are made on expressly request by the original artists (for example "Musback" or "LightStar"). I'm realy try to take it very serious about copyright. If an author not give the permission I will respect this without any problem. At this time I had to take down just two boot screens (and I have made more then 400) from ThemeXP: One was based on artwork by "Den Beauvais", an other was based on a wallpaper from www.shadowness.com. It have many other authors of wallpapers, logins or boot screens their not take it so serious like me about copyright. Sometimes I'm also using movie teasers or company logos. But I think this is no problem because finaly this is advertising for them and also is it near impossible to get an answer from them. For sure the representants of this companies saw my work and their tolerate it, otherwise their have alredy long time insist by me.
Anyway, if any author have problem, because I have used unconscious or unpermitted his work, he can contact me direct (with a reference to the original work please). I will respect this and remove this boot screen from ThemeXP and my CD-ROM immediatly."

As far as we're concerned he's doing it the right way...

"If I not can contact them or their not response, I give at minimum full credit to the original authors and make a link to the original."

"The "Happy Halloween" boot screen is realy based on work of Jairo. I have sent him a mail on the 9-26-2003 to ask for permission, but I not get any response until now. If he want I remove this boot screen, he just have to send me a mail with a few words and I will take them out immediatly."

"Also I try to contact him, but he never answer. "

that´s the "right way" now? things change fast nowadays.

Oh for crying out loud....you are on the wrong site.

We are Wincustomize.com, not ThemeXP.org.

We have no jurisdiction over the ThemeXP content or submission policy.

He at least 'tries' to get it right.

Others publicly accuse people of alleged transgressions and often incorrect and/or unsubstantiated.

And while they are at it employ a tone of contempt and derision which cheapens their cause.

Got an issue?

Use email.

lets have a look at the desired bootscreen: http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=2854

it´s taken from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" website.
with your tons of experience i am sure you can elaborate how this is swissboy´s work and not copyrighted by Jerry Bruckheimer Films

http://pirates.movies.go.com/

advice: just rip from the website yourself, then you don´t need to ask an other ripper for permission.

Well...bugger me....do you see a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Bootskin by swissboy here on Wincustomize.com?

No.

Sorry to disappoint, but take your beef to the correct site....that'd be the logical thing to do, now wouldn't it?...

But don't upload the rip here

Jafo: what beef? one can rip companies, be it Disney, Apple, Pixtudio, Bruckheimer, Pixar as much as anybody likes. i don´t really care about that. but claiming copyright for it is at least amusing.

Stumpy: why not? the bootscreen library is full of that stuff. but maybe "Pirates of the Caribbean" is something special.
