Start11 Change Start Menu Colors > Select Item Accent Color

The first thing to try is to click the "Reset" button. Then "Pick color..."  Now try one of the preset colors first and see if that works. If that works, then set your custom color. You could also try moving the color slider a little, and see if that helps.

Do the Basic colors work?

Just so we are on the same page, we're talking about the highlight color when hovering over the shortcut.

I'm guessing you mean selecting colors from the offered choices? Then, no. Nothing worked.

I'm not able to reproduce this, so I'm guessing something in the settings is causing this, or you have a corrupted install.

Try resetting the Start11 settings back to the defaults and test. Be sure to backup your existing settings first, so you can reapply them if this doesn't work.

If nothing else works, I would suggest you uninstall Start11; reboot; reinstall Start11 from a freshly downloaded installer from your Downloads page; and reboot again after the install.

colour changing indeed is not working with start11v2 modern style.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please look into your settings. I tested on my Windows 11 and color change do work on my system. Please refer to my video below.

Just make sure to check these settings.

1. Windows Personalization->Colors->Accent color->Automatic.
2. Windows Personalization->Colors->Accent color->Show accent color on Start and taskbar.
3. Start11 Start menu->Configure menu-> Customize menu visual appearance-> Change start menu colors-> Use automatic color for the start menu->Turn on.
