Sadness

I know that I am not a very frequent contributer to the site (although I have been around since the beginning), but wanted to share that my father passed away this morning at 1:20am from pnuemonia. He was 76 years old, sufferred from Alzheimer's, and was at the hospital to recieve radiation treatment for cancer on his nose. It was unexpected that he should go this way, however, I am sure he is in peace. I have never had to deal with grief of this magnitude in my life. Please keep my family in your prayers or thoughts.

William...that's sad news.  I think you should find a little comfort in accepting that Alzheimers isn't the kindest of illnesses and your father will now be free from its effects.

The passing of a family member is something we all are forced to face, so the sympathy of understanding will be very real.

Take care and stay close to your family for mutual support....

William.........i lost my father a couple of years ago so i feel for you and know like most other people on this thread what you are going through.
My father suffered from Parkinsons desease for the last 20 years of his life which slowly took its toll. I look back with a lot of fond memeories and i am forever grateful to him for showing me the right road to take in life and i will always try to live up to his standards and pass them onto my child.

Right now the best place to be is to stay close to your family as you will all need to help each other......but your other "family" here at Wincustomize will always be here for you as well. God bless you and all your family.

Very sorry to hear this william, My father in law died just before Christmas, (cancer) so we know how you feel.

I can only tell you to concentrate on the good memories, not the end. They will be the things you hold on to and treasure always.

Awwwwww. I'm sorry. I know you must miss him terribly.

My Mom passed not long ago and she, too, had problems with Alzheimer's. I missed her a lot but soon i started noticing parts of her in my siblings. And we (my Mom and me) were close enough I could sense her with me still...

I know it is an exquisite pain, seeing someone in the position where they are lost from their own mind. It's a loneliness you never quite can comfort for them. I came to see that perhaps Mom was free now, not in pain.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I can understand very well, we are going through a similar phase .... Dementia and Altheimers are really evil.
