Show Recent documents is not updating in Win 11 styles

I noticed Recent documents are not showing any recent pictures or document files until I change the Window style in the Stardock Start 11 configuration. Also, it is currently missing the ability to clear recent item lists or delete individual recent files (which can be done in Windows 7 style)

What happens if you click the "More" button to the right the the heading "Recent Documents?"

Turn on "Recent Items" in the Start11 settings on the "Shortcut list" tab at Start Menu>Configuration and see what shows up when you click the shortcut.

Also, include your Windows version and Start11 version in your reply.

I am referring to Start Menu>Configuration under Advanced options > Show recent documents

Windows 10 Pro v22H2
Start11 v2.03

I know, I just wanted to see if you got more results using this method.

Yeah, Recent Items from the shortcut list work in Win11 style just like in Win7 Style, though it still has ongoing issues that remain unfixed. It keeps showing folders in the recent item from where I access the file and the 2nd issue won't show the MP3 file I access.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Does restart explorer.exe resolve your issue?

Thanks

I can not reproduce your issue on my Windows 11 system. But, I am on Win11 v 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2715). Maybe you can try to update to latest Windows 11 v23H2

Thank you,

I watched the video and that is exactly the issue I have was folder keeps showing up in Recent Items. Recent Items only supposed to show files only, not folders. Also, do you have MP3 files to test it out? because MP3 files will not show up in the recent items, the folder where I access the MP3 file will show up but not the MP3 file.

I tested on MP3 and it show up for me.

I don't think you get my point, what I am trying to say is Folders should not show up in the recent items list. Also, I noticed every time I access Settings, the recent items keep showing "The Internet" and "ms-settings:".

To clarify, I hear you saying you only want documents in the "Recent documents" list on the Start11, Windows 11 Style, menu like the stock Windows 11 start menu.

That is a fair ask, but unfortunately, I don't think you can do that in Start11 right now.

It's best to make this a Feature Request for an option to only show documents in the Recent documents space on the Start11, Windows 11 Style, menu.

I understand your issue and was about to forward to Support. I just replying and showing that MP3 do showed up on my system. It was your request for me to check on MP3, no?

However, do know there was another issue with similar concern as your raise here: https://forums.stardock.com/524245 and here: https://forums.stardock.com/524176 . I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

There are multiple issues I want to address which I think is the best summary to a list.

issue #1 Start Menu > Configuration (shortcuts list > Recent Items) Folders and non-document files should not show up here

issue #2 Start Menu > Configuration (Advanced > Show recent documents) It is not updating to show files until I switch to a different Windows Style in Start11 or until I delete a file in the Recent Items

issue #3 Start Menu > Configuration (Advanced > Show recent documents) There is no option to remove individual files from the list or the ability to clear the list.

As far as the MP3 file not showing it seems to be an isolated issue on my desktop only, as I tested it on my laptop didn't have the issue with MP3 not showing in the recent list.

Great to know about your input on that MP3 issue. As for the rest of your issue. I think it is best if you post your issue here: https://forums.stardock.com/524216. It easier for Support and Dev team to review it. We appreciate your feedback.
