Inability to click icon once text overlay appears

First, THANK YOU for that beta upgrade!!! It fixed my issues to date beautifully!

As to the issue at hand - i have autohide turned on (meaning that i have not tested this issue with autohide turned off). When i hover over an item (button?) in the taskbar i have to click it immediately in certain cases. These cases are as follows: Though the normal behavior is once hovering over an icon a descriptive text will shortly show up just beneath the icon, in some cases the text appears overlaying the icon and at that point the icon can no longer be clicked. A case in point is the magnifying search glass that is adjacent to the main menu icon/button; example follows:

Directly underneath where the above shows "Search" is the magnifying glass and cannot be clicked upon until one moves away from the area, the taskbar is restored to original appearance, then going back to the magnifying glass and quickly selecting it. Though i can't recall which other instances with which i ran into this issue, i know that they do exist.

I hope i have not been overly "descriptive", just trying to eliminate "presumed knowledge" that would require a visit to the California Psychic Hotline to know what i was trying to say...

Many thanks,

-Bruce

Tested this on my machine. Not seeing your issue. The tool tip displays above the taskbar, with either Start11 Auto hide turned on or off.

Would you be so kind as to test with the task bar at the top of the screen please?

Okay, tested with the top aligned, rounded taskbar and the tool tips are on top of the Search and Task view buttons like your example, but behave as expected on pinned apps and folders.

Interesting. You can well see by the picture i provided that it isn't my imagination. I have to wonder if i made a mistake in some other in-program setting that might be causing this issue for me. I think i made a change to something to do with vertical alignment to set the icons properly in the thinnest taskbar that i could. I will run through the settings and see what i can find.

Thank you for testing and advising!

I edited my post after testing again. Sorry about that.

I don't use the Enhanced taskbar and I don't ever put the taskbar at the top, so being unfamiliar with those settings, I messed up the first test. After testing again, I got the same results as you. See my edited post above.

After thinking about this a little while longer, I don't believe this is a Start11 issue. The taskbar pins that are causing the issue are added to the taskbar from the Windows taskbar settings. Windows does not allow the taskbar at the top, so the tool tips think the taskbar is at the bottom and appear above the taskbar. I'm not sure if there's anything Stardock can do about this, so you'll probably have to live with it if you want those items pinned to the taskbar or move the taskbar to the bottom.

You can access the Task view from the keyboard with Alt+Tab, and to search, just click the Start button and start typing. Search will automatically open.

Certainly not a significant issue; only brought it up as an observation. Thanks for proving through i didn't eat the wrong mushroom or the like :)
