Start 11 V2 Task Bar Icon Refresh

I have observed a problem with Taskbar refresh when editing and exiting Start11 Config.   The Start button and one other pinned folder show double.  It eventually clears but I can reproduce it on two PC's both running Windows 11 23H2 Build 22631.2506.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I never see this issue on my system. And, as far as I remembered there is no such report from others too. Is there possibilities where you have installed any other Start menu/ Taskbar/ Explorer altering application other than Start11?

Thank you.

Hi,

I have nothing else installed on either computer that would alter those items.   As a precaution, I completely uninstalled Start 11 V2 and re-installed.   I am getting the same results.  I will conduct some further testing.

Yes, please do, specially, try Start11 enhance taskbar turn on or off, see if that change anything. Also, when you have time, please try cleanboot. https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#cleanboot.

And, does the issue happened if you change the start button to default start button?

Thank you,

Hi,

I've followed your recommendations, and used a third computer.  I was able to see the problems until I turned off Enhanced Taskbar.

Hi,  changing the start button made no difference.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Hi,

I have already tried that option without much success. The only success I have had is by removing the Center Aligned option for the Start Button.  I will continue to test other options.

Hi,

For some reason, the Start products do not show-up under my account.   I can only access them from the email that I received.

I had changed my email address a while ago and only my other orders are listed on my account.  Is there a direct link to the beta?

Hi Sean,

I created a new account using the new email and now I see the software and Beta download option.  I will download it, test, and report back.

You should merge these two acoounts because it would be more convenient for you in the future. You can do that here: https://www.stardock.com/accounts/registrations/

Be sure when you put in the two emails, that it's transferred to right email you want to keep for future communication with Stardock.

Hi,

I updated my accounts, downloaded the Beta version and still get the same results.    Sometimes it is the first pinned item after the Task View button, sometimes it's the start button, sometimes both.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you remove the Task view and Search buttons from the taskbar?

Same.  The only thing that has worked, so far, is to not use Center Aligned in the Start Button options and use Left Aligned.  But I prefer  Center Aligned.

What if you disable the custom start button?

Hi Sean,

I have tested by removing the search and task view buttons with center aligned and, so far, no issues.  If you need anything from me; configs or registry entries, etc, please let me know.

I have not seen any updates on this issue but I have been testing without adding the Search and Task View icons in the task bar and I have not encountered the issue since.

This recommendation worked after I applied the 2.03 beta version.   I have not heard back from anyone on a fix.

Hello,

Please check this setting under your Windows taskbar setting. Try changing the "Taskbar alignment" setting to Left or Center. There might be a conflicting issue with Start11 Center Start button option.

Thanks

Hi,

I have it set at Left currently but it won't allow me to change to center.  It reverts back to left.

Thanks

So if you set it to the left the issue still happening on Start11 icons overlaps issue?
