I Keep Getting Prompted For My Key

OMG, Make this stop already.

I have multiple licenses for Start10 and yet not one of them will stay registered. I have been interrupted periodically for months now. I 'did my research' to solve the problem I didn't create and found a link that mentions deleting a folder and reapplying the key. I've done that more than once and am still getting these stinking prompts.

How do I fix this once and for all so that I can use what I've paid for without being pestered again?

This is among the things I've already tried (over, and over, and over, and over again.) https://forums.stardock.com/486311/accounts-and-activation-support-faq#keepsaskingactivation

Help make this nightmare end. Please and thank you.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe there were reports from users with the same issue as yours. And, we found out that the culprit of the issue are 3rd party system cleaner or something similar, which keep deleting "license.sig" in the "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Start10" folder. Once that file deleted, Start10 will think that the software is not activated and will ask for activation. This will happen again and again every time that activation file been deleted. What you should do is to whitelist/ignore that folder from that 3rd party software scanner.

As mentioned on that link you stated above.

It has also been reported that some “system cleaner” type software will remove these needed files, if this happens, adjust your program to not scan these folders

Thanks

Hi basj,

I've excluded them now. Hopefully, this helps. Thank you.

When it happen can you browse to that folder ("C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Start10") and see if "license.sig" actually removed.

It just happened again and I looked. The license.sig file is no longer there. The only file remaining is Cache.dat. I didn't run any drive cleaner and it's been excluded anyway, so that isn't the problem.

There is something else removing it, it can't be deleting itself. Please list out what software you have installed in your system with respect to your pc health and security.
