Sorry to hear that PixStudio had that happen. Not much sense in doing that sort of thing but that doesn't seem to stop the cretins. >

Website hackers are usually stupid 'kids' with new scrips to play with. I guess is the only time they feel they have control of something in their meaningless life.
I’m sorry to hear that Alexandrie, but I’m glad to know that everything it’s been worked out.

Hi,

I agree with itsrainin.

How is it possible that a commercial website doesn't have a recent backup?

Every itself and customers respecting company should have a daily backup.
How hard can that be? Everything can be automated for a backup.

I see it too many times... we don't have a recent backup...

I just don't understand...

/me wonders who let the insane people in here...

...maybe so, but the "moron" part was and still is not necessary.

You need to understand that these good folks are providing a service to you/us, and probably also have very busy lives, outside of the time they spend doing this.

They have offered a fix to those that have been affected by the hackers, and if this does not concern or affect you, then why post a negative opinion here?

Edited to repond to Kona..... Me too!

I agree the moron thing was completely uncalled for. These people got hacked so a little concern is needed. One does not plan on getting hacked. It is a horrible thing.

I can not stand hackers. Not only do they ruin websites, they ruin it for therest of us when they make keygens and stuff.

And that "MORON" post was NOT needed.

How insane!

The use of a descriptive such as *moron* is a direct reflection upon the one making use of it and not the person/people the user intends it to stick to...

Frankly speaking monthly backup of a web site which is not constantly changing is more than enough. As far as what would need nightly or weekly back ups is something you pick up on as time goes by. As far as needing to have a new key generated goes, deal with it or not but don't whine about it, commercial site or not there is a solution provided so make use of it.

Not including the fact that if you can do it better, then shell out to money, create the site and all the premium skins and icon packs you like and start your own business and you can call yourself a moron all you like.

The fact that they have posted the problem, the reason and a solution does not equate to anyone's negative opinion holding any more meaning than they have a negative out look. Again speaking to the point, I feel they have and are dealing with the situation in the best possible manner with what they face...

what moron has a month old backup

The real question should actually be 'Which moron hacks a site that two people have worked hard to build up?'

Good grief seriously, i have no sympathy for somebody who doesnt have the common sense to back up a commercial site, I mean come on, if a site is hacked you can freakin re-upload it, even if serious control is taken on a server by a hacker the server owner can restore the system and you upload your backup, its not rocket science, and i love this quote "Website hackers are usually stupid 'kids' with new scrips to play with", well obviously the admin for that site is not much smarter than the hacker who defaced it, if he had a month old backup. Honestly the whole "hacker" thing would not be nearly as bad if people just took precautions and used common sense.

Alexandrie was posting information for folks at this site. There really wasn't any need for your negativity, unless somehow you find joy in someone else's misfortune. So unless you are in need of information concerning your purchases at Pixtudio during the month of December then I would suggest, for the courtesy of all others who might, that you stay off this thread, so that it can get back on topic

Have a Nice Day

no flame needed or intended...

Your posts do yourself justice without a doubt and prove out the fact that your in no need of help at weilding the brushes for the picture you paint...

As far as back up's go, as stated before, monthly back up is more than enough until a need for more is otherwise noticed.

Keep painting, it might get really interesting in the end.

Its not so much that you think they should have done something different. It isn't a bad idea to have daily or weekly backups. The problem is your uncalled for name-throwing. You are adding insult to injury. That makes those sypathetic to the plight of pixtudio mad.

Hey guys....enough already. Johanne took the time and effort to give their customers a heads up that there was a problem and how to resolve it. Period.

I'm confident they have enough headaches without this. How they run their business is just that....their business. If you have some thoughts has to how you would 'Backup' your system or run your own business...start your own thread.
