Fences resizing and moving themselves randomly.

I recently purchased fences 4 and I am having some issues, I have fences 2 on my other Win 11 PC and it is flawless. Version 4 however keeps randomly moving fences.

One of the issues that I constantly encounter is where I lock my fences and after a reboot they randomly create a space between two fences where they are supposed to be stacked right against each other. This problem is intermittent.

Another issue I recently encountered was where all the fences resized themselves to half their width.

I don't know if it matters but I am using an Ultrawide monitor.

Please post a screenshot of your fences layout.

From the screenshot, I don't see a problem. Do you have missing icons?

No, you should have mentioned that you wanted a screen shot of the the issue.

I have since reset the positions of the fences to where they are supposed to be, when this happens again I will post screen shot.

Generally it happens when I install a new game and reboot.

Another issue I see sometimes is if I launch a fullscreen application the fences draw on top of the application, this is usually a video game, etc. I am using HDR in desktop mode as well.

Again both issues are intermittent.

This happened today after a remote desktop session.

The 3D and 3D Prints fences were either moved or resized.

Open the image and zoom in on the picture you will see the gap between the 3 bottom fences.

And that's just one of the issues I am experiencing. There are a handful more that I haven't reported yet.

From Basj's first reply, change your setting to the 3rd option. RDP is potentially changing the resolution, see if that option helps

That seems to have helped for now.

What about this issue, fences rendering over an active window?

Hello,

Do you have toggle show Fences on top option turned on? If you do, you just need to press that hotkey again to turn off the "on top" part.

Thank you,

First that makes no sense, why would only once fence appear and not all if I accidentally toggle it.

Only my bottom fence appears at random when launching a full screen app. This fence is a folder portal fence. The others don't come peering through like that.

Second I don't have that option in my Fences.

I think there is a rendering problem with Fences 4, HDR, and Win 11. When I screen capture it looks ok, like the above image, however when I am looking at it at the screen the menu text font looks broken. I was able to capture this with with OBS and took a screen cap of that, see the below capture and the menu text.

I am using HDR in desktop mode, when I turn off HDR this issue disappears and the menu text renders correctly. I think the fence peering through the full screen application is related to this problem. Again non issue on Fences 2 on my other Win 11 machine, on Fences 4.

I am sorry, apparently that screenshot on my Reply#13 was from an older version of Fences 4. And the bottom part setting no longer appear on Fences V4.10 and V4.11. And, since I don't have HDR capable monitor for my Win11 system, I can not varify your issue on my system. However, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

I enabled this but fences are still moving and resizing.

This software is broken.
