Unable to use Help Update

Unable to update. My previous post explained that I was unable to update a winstyles theme but was able to update my dxthemes and dxpacks. No I am unable to do either. Clicking on the Help Update button brings me to a logon page with the following error.

Request object error 'ASP 0103 : 80004005'

Expecting numeric input

/tools/updateskin2.asp, line 81

The function expects a number as input.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks,
Rich

Hmmmmm... I am not sure but it sounds like a cookie problem maybe? Have you cross-referenced with your current email address and all that? Maybe you could try tossing your cookies? There is a kill cookies link here somewhere....

That's another PITA issue with me. I routinely, (weekly), clean out my cookies, TIFs, temp files, etc. and every time I do I have to attempt logging into wincustomize, getting the cookie error page, click on the killcookies.asp link, close IE, reopen IE to my homepage, delete TIFs, close IE and reboot the machine. Then re-attempt to log in to the Wincustomize page. Maybe it'll log in then, maybe not. Sometimes I have to do all this twice. I'll usually forget to exclude the wincustomize cookies when I'm deleting them all.

GM, I did all the above again. I can log in to the page, click on 'My Skins' and get my list of skins, click on the suite I want to update, get that, but as soon as I click on the 'Help Update' button I get the previously mentioned error. It seems like it has to be on their site but I'm not seeing anyone else posting on this.

I had the same problem...turned out to be Zone Alarm. when I disable it then the update worked.

Huh... well, halfway there. After shutting down ZAP I can now access the browse feature that allows me to set my screenshot and theme file but after hitting the submit button the progress bar advances a little bit and then give me an unable to access page error. I was able to update all my other themes and objects while running ZAP but not this last one. I'd sure like to be back up and running.

Well, still no joy. Who do I call to get this resolved? I've emailed Frogboy but I also know he's very busy getting everything up and running again. Is there a support hotline that I could contact to determine what the problem is?

Thanks much,
R

mailto:pford@stardock.com

T-man would probably be the one who can help.

I had troubles like that, and my solution was to close the brower and only upload the minute after I reopen the brower. Don't know why, but it seems to work every time.
