Why no autohide for taskbar at top of screen in W11 2H22

One of the reasons I bought Start11 was so that I could keep having the taskbar at the top of the screen with autohide, which is the way I've been using it since NT4. Now I've upgraded to W11 2H22 and that feature no longer works, is this a permanent issue, or is a fix expected?

Is there anything that can be done to escalate this as it makes the product pointless for me, or can I get a refund since basic functionality remains broken a year after I reported it?

From what I understand nothing new on this one. For refund, please raise support ticket using the link below. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Ticket will be answer by the order they send in.

Start11 does not provide the autohide functionality, thats provided by Windows and changes in the OS mean it stopped working when at the top of the screen.

It is also worth noting that Start11 makes it clear that moving the taskbar uses functionality built into Windows 11 which is not exposed and it may change in future versions.  This is exactly what happened.  We went out of our way to bring back taskbars at the top of the screen for 22H2 but unfortunately autohide when on the top of the screen is a niche of a niche.

That may all be true, but prior to W11 2H22 it worked fine. Also, other options such as ExplorerPatcher have no problem in making this work on the latest builds of Windows 11.

As noted above, the OS changed.  Thats why it worked before.

Yes, but why can others still make it work but not Stardock?

Because they trick explorer into thinking it is Win10 and try to workaround the missing bits Microsoft slowly remove.  Hence the significant difference in how the taskbar looks.  We work with the Win11 look taskbar and extend that.

Unfortunately that route is highly likely to be broken and I think explorer patcher has been broken twice this year so far?  For something free thats fine, but for something paid thats not.

Thats why we were very careful to put on top taskbars in the may get broken by OS changes section of the UI and have never offered any UI to access autohide.

OK, thanks for the explanation (shame it's taken Stardock the best part of a year to respond), I'll continue to use ExplorerPatcher which has worked perfectly for me since last November.
