This was touched on in another thread recently but i would love to see some sort of Awards Ceremony (call it what you like) where all the members of WC Community have the opportunity to vote for the best skins of the year. We could have a few catergories but not too many - possibly keep it to 2 - Windowblinds and Others. There are many ways it could work but we do not want to make too much extra work for the mods and admins.
Hopefully Stardock or WC might like to put up a prize or two if we speak nicely to Brad or has anyone else got any ideas.....First prize a night out on the town with IR, second prize spelling lessons with Kona, third prize a trip round the space ship Enterprise with Fuzzy.......no guys i am joking and this is purely an idea which please feel free to shoot down in flames or give your own opinion

I like the Idea, It would almost be better if it was done by a ouside source. I think it would be hard for the por admins, me being one, not to get accused of favertisum, etc.. perhaps if it was simply a each wincustomize member got one vote. it might work.

I really wish Stardock would sponsor something like this

Competition is a good thing. It makes everyone step it up a notch and we would most likely see some great work come from it

I know it would motivate an average skinner like myself to really take the time to do a higher quality skin or icons, etc.

Would I win?...No,...Honestly, I can say right now that my vote would most likely go to Pixtudio, MikeB, Hippy, Mormegil, Grayhaze...but you never know what may pop up out of a contest. It would sure kick in some 'missing' motivation to skin something though and that would be enough for me right now

I think the 'One' vote per WC member would be ideal.

If the staff agree to the idea in principal this will be be handled properly and all aspects will be given careful consideration. It will be done in a very professional way as you would expect from the most respected skinning site in the world.

The voting thing is doomed to fail, people will recieve more votes purely because of the name attached to it. That's just a small price to pay for being a skinning celebrity, you can't change that. Perhaps if we voted on judges, and then those judges will do all the deciding for us. This way we can't bitch and say "he favored so-and-so" and no one will recieve extra votes just because of thier name/reputation. What do you think?

Thanks Leo, the finished theme should be out soon, I might be able to upload it tomorrow if all goes well.

Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaw..........This will be like Xmas come early. I can't wait to play with Aquamarine

BTW.......Just a thought Adam, don't tell me its for 1280 X 1024 only otherwise i will cry as my max on my TFT is 1024 X 768.

Zodiaq... I think you're missing the point. Re-read Leo's first post. He's talking about awards for the best skins of 2003. This would honor the folks that always step it up a notch. Why would you wait for a contest to produce your best work? Are you holding out on us?
