Is there some standard legal text which skinners could use to fire at rippers? Maybe Jafo might have an idea (I seem to remember something about this before).

I've had an e-mail from the guy today saying he will remove it from his site. We'll see...

Why do people rip walls & etc?
they like them and do not have the skills to create them on their own I guess

I think it is going to come down to whether they claim it to be their work, or if they are simply re-distributing it. The former is pretty much universally accepted as a no-no, but as we have seen here, opinions differ on the latter. In some cases we say it is okay to redistribute other people's work, and in others are motivated to prevent it. I made a post about this on the skinning board re a chinese site: https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WCS&id=204635

Did the Italian site in question claim the work as their own, or were they just re-distributing it with/without credit? I'm glad they decided to remove it, but I am stumped as to how we can make them, even if the law agreed that we have the right to. I'm sure there are DMCA style laws that could be used/abused to fit the need, but frankly it is holding back the ocean with a broom.

We give this stuff away freely, and our rights as to what is done with it thereafter are so fuzzy that even *we* can't agree... as we have seen in past testosterone fueled love-fests. I'd like to see us come to some sort of conclusion as a community, but I have lost the hope that it will ever matter outside the community, especially in areas where language and legal differences are barriers.

Now that you've been ripped, the next big sign that you have arrived is to be included in that Japanese magazine...
