How can I make this wallpaper better?

Hi, I'm looking for some general feedback on my wallpaper. I created it about a week ago, and submitted it soon thereafter. Sadly, it was rejected, despite my high hopes. No offence intended to the fine folks running wincustomize - they have to go through a lot of wallpapers, and I understand, only the best will do.

So how can I make my wallpaper more... submittable, as it were?

Don't bother sparing my feelings; just give me the straight poop! Thanks in advance, to anyone who replies.

Oh, right, and here's the link: http://inkart.homestead.com/files/Trickle_Down.bmp

Well for starters I would suggest compressing by changing it to a jpg so it isn't
linking to a BMP that is over 3 megs...

Might get more input...

The name with the pic of money falling like snow lends a visual of homeless Elf's, starving Raindeer and a drunkin Santa

Yess, please compress!Sorry to say ,if I were a mod,I would have passed on this too.It looks like the backdrop for some work at home or financial planning website. As a wall its just too plain for my gawdy taste.I cant take bright white burning into my sensitive retinas.2D work is fine for some but I like depth.

and a few more colors but thats just personal preference.

Thanks for the input, guys, I'll convert it to JPEG now, as well.

By the way, I thought of adding more colours and depth, but I lack the skill to pull that sort of thing off consistantly. Any tips for a n00b?

Depth requires shadows and highkights. What graphics program are you using?

why the money sign$?

I'm glad you asked. I know it might look a little tacky, but the whole point was the capture a visual of "trick down" economics. Not that I understand the theory in any way, but this is the image it conjures up.

That is why there are $ signs.

I definally agree, add depth. It actually looks like something we would spray paint on the wall. Example: GM's Game

You like the green don't you?

Alright. This is great feedback, and I'm getting a consistant response: more colours and depth.

I'll get on it, and see if that will be accepted.

I don't know any way to say this nicely, JM_Zen, but you basically need to aquire some graphic skills.  Search on Google for tutorials using Photoshop or PaintShop Pro, or which ever program you have. And practice, experiment, go wild. Make 10, 20 wallpaper that you'll scrap and start over before you submit your first one.
Trying to get one wall better in hopes it'll get submitted will get you nowhere. Take the time to master some techniques. When you start being compfortable doing the things that you'd like to do with your graphic software, that's when you can start being creative, and using your new knowledge to make your own art. Then maybe you'll get one accepted here. But please, don't upload your practice material.
