Fence positions on a multi-screen windows 10 environment

Being able to micro adjust / restore fences positions.

I use 4 monitors in Windows 10. The main is directly connected via a KVM to my HDMI port on my computer.  The other three are driven via a USB -> HDMI adapter that can drive 4 monitors.  I use three.

When I use my KVM to switch computers, the primary screen responds immediately.  The USB driven screens take a while to catch up.

When I switch back to my primary computer with Fences, the fences are all squeezed onto the primary/main screen.  Sometimes the saved/restore position feature of Fences works, sometimes not. So, I must move the fences manually.

I was wondering if there is a way to use a command line or PowerShell command to drive the fences to a specific position on a specific screen.  I know the save fences Layout & snapping function stores the locations and screen settings somewhere in a file.  I'd like to be able to access that file directly to update my current fences and positions on the monitors.

Suggestions?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Naturally, Windows will move the icons (and Fences) to any remaining monitors if the others are slow to return.

You can use the following to help mitigate this shifting:

Thanks for the info TP.  I've been doing that.

1) the restore snapshot does not always work.

2) my question was regarding the potential of a command line, batch command, or PowerShell script I could use to "reset" the fences to a known configuration.  I'm asking if there is information available on how the Snapshot stores the layout; .xml, .ini or config file; so I could implement a restore snapshot (drive the fences to a specific location and screen) with a single command.

Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

A further comment on my  reply above.  I see some of the information I'm looking for might be available in the information FAQ you cited.  I'll review and see if any of my questions are already answered with regards to the layout data storage.
