Start 11 a few Suggestions/Ideas

Start 11

Hi,

I am currently testing the Start 11 app. I wanted to let you know I think its great, keep up the good work. Once the 30 day trial is over I am pretty sure I am going to purchase this software.

A couple of features I did notice that seem to be not working when using the Windows 10 start menu layout, not sure if they should be there or not.

1.) Ability when using windows 10 layout for the start menu, there is no option to create groups of tiles (like in their own folder as you could with windows 10). Is this a feature you will be adding?

2.) When using again the Windows 10 Start Layout there does appear to be an actual search box. You can search as when you start typing the search text appears at the top of the window. Would it be possible to add a search (Custom Item perhaps and also have its location at the bottom of the menu.)

3.) No ability to rename shortcuts on on menu or access their properties as I found this very useful in Windows 10.

Also I have some customized icons for Programs that seem to revert back to program default icon and not use the Shortcut as I set it up on my system, (is this as intended or a bug in the software?)

Again I would like to say what a wonderful utility this is and I am finding much better than the Default Windows 11 System Menu.

In Start 10. right-clicking on the Start button brought up the various Start 10 configuration options, which was very convenient. In Start 11 this feature seems to have disappeared. Can we have it back please?

(I have also posted this in another thread because I'm not sure where the correct place is for this sort of request.)

You can turn this back on from the taskbar page in settings.

Click the control what right clicking on the taskbar does and it will expand and show you the Show Win+X menu when right clicking on the start button rather than the Start11 one.  Turn that off and you should be good.

You can also access Start11 by right clicking on blank space in the menu.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I'm probably being a bit dim but in Settings/Personalization/Taskbar I can't see anywhere  to "control what right clicking on the taskbar does". However, your tip to right-click on a blank space in the menu to access Start 11 settings works just fine.

The location is in Start11 settings, not Windows settings.
