UWP apps don't show up in v.0.9

I updated to v.0.9 and selected the 'Modern Style,' with no other changes from the default. The 'Universal Applications' does not expand.

Also, if I go under Modern Style -> Settings -> All programs list, it appears 'Show Universal applications in their own folder' doesn't actually do anything. Whether I toggle it on or off, I have a 'Universal Applications' on the menu with nothing in it. Yes, I've rebooted a couple of times and tried switching to other menu styles and coming back.

I want to be clear on what you noted is not working.  Is this what you are trying to do but cannot?

If you uninstall Start11, reboot, and reinstall, does it then work?

Yes, when I click on the Universal Applications, it wouldn't show anything. And it's inconsistent. Sometimes I see the items, sometimes I don't.

But I have found a way to see things every time: if UA doesn't show any content, move the mouse over 'Computer' right below 'Universal Applications,' (no clicking, just moving it) then mouse to the UA menu and everything appears. That always works.

A couple of more notes: This is a Win10 machine, and I use virtual desktops. It's far more likely that the UA menu won't show anything on desktop 1 than it is on desktop 2, where it works pretty reliably. When I boot into Windows, I have two desktops already defined.

I will uninstall and reinstall. Do I need to deactivate the license first?

Just to clarify something, the all programs list option for universal applications relates only to the all programs list not the right hand list.  That is a different thing which is why toggling the setting does nothing for it.

One thing, do not click on the item on the right hand side, always use hover as there is a reported issue with clicking which we will address for 1.0.
